Dear Families,

As we continue to explore bringing students into our school for in-person instruction we know that it is critical that we continue to keep open lines of communication with families.  Although there is not yet an established date for bringing students back to school for in-person instruction I can assure you that we are consistently working on a plan for when we are able to do so.

The most recent guidelines from the state have indicated that if we intend to provide the opportunity to students for in-person instruction we must simultaneously provide a Comprehensive Distance Learning (CDL) option for families/students that do not wish to return to in-person instruction.

In order to establish that comprehensive plan, we need to have a general idea of what modality students will choose to receive their education.  Having students indicate their likely choice from among the three options𑁋 In-Person Hybrid, Comprehensive Distance Learning only, or Thrive𑁋helps inform our plans for the In-Person Hybrid and CDL options.

The intent of this survey is to gather information and is not a binding commitment for your student(s).  The following points are meant to help you make an informed decision.  

Students and families should consider the following when indicating their preference:

*Students will be expected to remain in the selected modality for the duration of the year

In-Person/Hybrid

*Instruction will consist of strict protocols while in the building that include  required masks; daily screening; limited movement inside the building and within the classroom; assigned seating for all transportation, classrooms, and lunch/break times; and potential COVID-19 testing if mandated by the state.

*Instruction will likely consist of two days on site (depending on the number of students that select this modality) and two days of CDL instruction off-site. We anticipate splitting students alphabetically as originally indicated and will make accommodations for students in the same household with differently grouped names to attend on the same day:  A-K on Mon/Tue and L-Z on Thur/Fri

*Comprehensive Distance Learning students and In-Person/Hybrid students on days they are not on-site:

*Students will not be allowed on-site  

*Students who choose Comprehensive Distance Learning will not have access to performing arts.

*In middle school, it is likely that there will be only one CDL period of each subject for each grade level and all 6/7/8 students, both Hybrid and CDL, who are not on-site during that particular day.  For example a schedule may look like this: 1st Period CDL Math, 2nd Period CDL English, 3rd Period CDL Science, 4th Period CDL Social Studies, 5th Period CDL Elective/Study Hall.  This would mean that students would be required to take the particular academic subject during the only class period it is available when they are not on-site.
