AI is attracting increased attention due to its potential to enhance and/or disrupt our society. In August 2018, a group of K-12 educators and AI researchers joined together to form the AI for K-12 working group to develop national guidelines for how to teach AI across K-12. The working group has spent the last two academic years developing the guidelines and curating aligned instructional resources.. The group is commissioned by the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI) and the Computer Science Teachers Association (CSTA). The guidelines are organized into five big ideas and span four grade bands: K-2, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12.
