Join the Reviewer Zero organizing committee!
We are looking for volunteers to join our organizing committee to help move this initiative forward. If you’re interested in joining us, please fill out the application below. The committee meets approximately once a week for an hour via Zoom, and committee members can expect up to 1-2 additional hours of work per week on their own time.

Position descriptions:

Reviewer coordinator (2 positions):
The two reviewer coordinators will work together to design and manage a system for recruiting and vetting reviewers; gather resources for training reviewers in providing constructive feedback to URM trainees; design a review process that encourages kind and constructive feedback; and design a system for monitoring the quality of reviews and providing feedback and recognition to reviewers.

Trainee coordinator (2 positions):
The two trainee coordinators will work together to solicit feedback from URM trainees on how Reviewer Zero can best meet their needs; work with the reviewer coordinators to design a constructive review process; and design a system to monitor trainees’ ongoing experiences and for trainees to provide feedback to reviewers.

Editorial coordinator (1 position):
The editorial coordinator will recruit and manage section editors, and design a system to implement the review process for matching submissions to reviewers, monitoring the quality of reviews, and ensuring a timely review process. Prior editorial experience is essential for this position.

Fundraising & Publicity coordinator (1 position):
The fundraising and publicity coordinator will write grants to support the long-term success of Reviewer Zero and work with the community liaison to publicize Reviewer Zero services to diverse communities. Prior grant-writing experience for diversity and inclusion related initiatives is highly desirable for this position.

Community Liaison (1-2 positions):
The community liaison will identify and communicate with partner organizations, and work with the fundraising and publicity coordinator to oversee communications with the communities we’re serving.
