LREI Responsible Use Agreement
Little Red School House & Elisabeth Irwin High School’s (LREI) network and computing facilities are intended to enrich the academic experience of students, faculty, and staff. Specifically, we attempt to enhance learning and teaching through access to information, research, interpersonal communication, teacher training, collaboration, and dissemination of successful educational practices, methods, and materials. Computing resources should be viewed as an extension of the school’s physical environment. LREI is pleased to provide and support the hardware and software which enhance the progressive curriculum of the School across all three divisions.  Their use entails the same privileges, obligations, and responsibilities that come with using any school facility. These general guidelines can be found in the Student Handbook.

This form references the Technology and Internet Use policy and is to be signed and affirmed each year by all LREI students and their parents/guardians who use/receive School devices for use on campus and/or at home.

TECHNOLOGY AND INTERNET RESPONSIBLE USE POLICY (the full policy can be found at https://www.lrei.org/rup)

The Little Red School House and Elisabeth Irwin High School Technology and Internet Responsible Use Policy is a statement with regards to our expectations for the use of all computer facilities within the school, including the Internet. These guidelines are to be followed when using LREI computers and networks and, where relevant, personal devices both inside and outside of school networks.

While the Internet provides access to many wonderful information sources it also provides access to information that may be irrelevant, inaccurate, offensive, inappropriate or even illegal. Educators within the LREI community will make every effort to guide students to excellent resources and provide students with the skills to thoughtfully evaluate websites, social media and cloud-based tools. We expect students to apply their understanding and monitor themselves after they have been given clear and reasonable guidance. Parents will want to be familiar with how students access and use digital tools or spaces and we encourage open conversation about Internet and social media use.

Please discuss this policy at home. Technology is an ever present part of the lives of students both at School and at home.  For the 2021-2022 school year, expectations of responsible technology related to school issued device use are:

3rd-8th grade: Responsible use of personally issued Chromebooks both on campus and at home and other  school managed desktops/laptops/iPads/tablets on campus.

9th-12th grade: Responsible use of personally issued MacBooks both on campus and at home and other  school managed desktops/laptops/iPads/tablets.
