What is the purpose of the workshop?

The UoB Community of Practice for Community Engaged Research aims to share approaches, findings, and outputs to develop mutual understanding, connections, and support. We held our first event in December 2023 and co-produced a shared vision:

We want to create a Community of Practice that facilitates accessible, consistent and reciprocal relationships between researchers and diverse communities and organisations in Birmingham
By creating an enabling environment for meaningful communication and durable relationships
In order to become serious about being a civic university.

Now it is time to co-produce plans to turn this vision into action. During the interactive workshop, we will explore together what is already being done, how this could be strengthened, and how we can work collaboratively to realise our vision.

This 2-hour interactive workshop (including lunch) will create a clear plan to turn our vision into action and help us fulfil our ambitions to be a civic university.

We will explore together what is already being done, how this could be strengthened, and how we can work collaboratively to realise our vision faster.
