1. If you have group facilitation experience, how would you describe yourself as a facilitator? What qualities do you believe make a person an effective facilitator? *
2. What work have you done for your own emotional and/or spiritual growth? *
3. Because we are a service organization, not a faith-based program, we request that there be no evangelizing. This means that we ask facilitators to withhold from inserting a religious framework into class discussion. Program participants may often bring up their belief systems, and the facilitator may hold space for that, but as a figure in the room with more power, she should not provide a faith-based response to a woman's story, nor introduce an activity from a faith-based perspective. She should also refrain from celebrating a particular religious belief brought up by a participant, in order to not reinforce one belief system, and to create space in the classroom for all beliefs to coexist. Instead, she should focus on teaching TBT values: communication, community-building, creativity, and care for self.  Can you meet this request whole-heartedly? What, if any, concerns do you have? *
4. Please explain your experience with restorative justice and trauma-informed work if any.
5. As a TBT facilitator, you will complete every activity alongside the women. Are you comfortable with examining your life in the classroom? *
6. How do you experience your feelings differently when you are in the role of a student/learner versus a teacher/leader? *
7. How do you respond to feeling vulnerable? *
8. Facilitators listen to a deep level of personal experience from a wide variety of people who represent different cultures, races, religions, sexualities, genders, socio-economic levels, etc. They also work with some who have committed crimes they may find disturbing. Please think of a hypothetical scenario in which you might encounter a personal bias while working with the participants and how you would handle the situation. *
9. Emotional expressions, such as crying, are common in TBT classes. How would you respond as a facilitator and/or facilitator in training if someone were crying in your class? *
10. What tools/practices/knowledge have you used that you want to share with women in prison? Please give examples. *
11. What do you think will be the most difficult thing for you in working with incarcerated women? *
12. What do you think will be the most rewarding thing for you in working with incarcerated women? *
13. What else do you think would be helpful for us to know about you? *
14. Please provide at least two references we may contact by email, and/or by phone and your relationship to the reference. *
15. Please provide at least three opportunities that include dates and times for a virtual interview within the next 2 weeks. *
