Welcome to Beats By Girlz and our Level 1 in music production

This is a beginners coarse is for adult women and gender expansive individuals. No previous experience needed!

Beats by Girlz is a global organisation with a mission to create a safe and comfortable place for women and gender expansive individuals to get involved in music technology while having as much fun as possible. The goal is to provide you with the guidance, access, tools and role-support to develop your interests and ability to pursue career opportunities in music production, composition, engineering, etc - fields where a women and gender expansive demographic is all but lacking. Our approach is about much more than pushing buttons. We consciously wrote in lessons that give you the opportunity to be a songwriter, a lyricists, a producer, an engineer and a collaborator - all of which showcase the fact that if you chose, you can play all of these roles simultaneously and independently.

The Level 1 Curriculum consists of 8 Lessons:

1-3 basic functionality and composition
4-5 genre based production
6-8 writing project

You will be able to continue to Level 2 and other courses hereafter, where we go in depth with songwriting, sampling, mixing and more.

If you have a laptop, please instal the free version of Ableton live https://www.ableton.com/en/products/live-lite/ and bring it. If not you can borrow a laptop during classes.

When: Tuesdays, 6:30-8:30PM, from October, 26th.
Deadline for registration: September, 1st.
