This survey is part of research about policy instruments designed for or implemented in peri-urban landscapes (PULs). The objective is to investigate what policy instruments are available to address the sustainability challenges of PULs, how they have been implemented, and with what results.

We ask you to answer the survey describing a policy instrument that you know, which has been designed for or implemented in the extent of PULs. Please fill in the survey describing a single policy instrument. If you want to describe more than one policy instrument, please fill in a separate survey for each one.

A policy instrument (PI) is defined as a set of means or mechanisms to achieve a policy goal (https://ipbes.net/glossary/policy-instrument). With PI we refer here to any policy, strategy, instrument or law developed by a decision-maker and applied on the ground in order to improve a specific territorial situation. Relevant decision-makers include public authorities, but also groups, organizations, indigenous people and local communities, entities and stakeholders. In most cases, a PI is associated with financial resources.


The survey contains mostly closed-ended questions, and it's completing should not take longer than 15 minutes.
