PHFD Smoke Detector Install Request
Please fill out the below information if you are requesting to have smoke detectors installed in your residence by the Peoria Heights Fire Department. If you have a concern that your existing smoke detectors may be expired, installed incorrectly, or inadequate to cover your residence, make sure you notate that on this form and we will be more than happy to check those as well.
Per the requirements of our Smoke Detector Installation program, the Peoria Heights Fire Department is only allowed to install smoke detectors provided by the department with 10-year sealed batteries for homeowners residing within the corporate boundaries of Peoria Heights. We are not able to install detectors provided by the homeowner (both battery powered or hardwired) nor can we provide our detectors to be installed by the homeowner, but we can provide literature to help guide homeowners on installing their own detectors. Landlords and rental property owners are required to provide working smoke alarms (and CO detectors if gas appliances are present) to their tenants.
