The launch of the Environment and Climate Action Working Group on behalf of the Toronto Youth Cabinet will pilot a potential annual occasion: Enrichment in the Environment: City Climate.
The working group and the TYC aim to advocate for the next generation of climate youth leaders in order to achieve both environmental awareness and climate action across the city of Tkaronto.
The event will serve as a Youth Talks and will result in advocating concerns and comments. Youth individuals and youth organizations will come together to discuss successes, failures, and opportunities from the previous five years of Toronto and its environment along with climate in regard to the lives of youth.
A document with three sections — successes, failures, and opportunities — will become a draft and the working group will submit copies of comments and concerns to those appropriate (e.g., Environment & Climate Division, Ontario Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change, or Environment and Climate Change Canada). This event will be a chance for youth to be heard and find solutions together, along with an opportunity to network with one another.
We are currently seeking
youth participants (ages 13 - 24) who live, work, and/or attend school in Toronto to join the meeting. If you are, or someone you know is, a Toronto youth who has an interest in the environment and climate,
