Thank you for your interest in being a member of the LBMS Robotics Team for 2020-2021 school year. The robotics team is an enrichment program that requires a high level of commitment, teamwork, and motivation to maintain a successful competitive team. The teams will design, build, and test robots to complete the VEX EDR 2020-21 competition task. Competitions run throughout the school year, but we aren't sure yet what that might look like during our social distancing. We will send more information about that as it becomes available.

Expectations *

Please read and check each box to indicate you understand the expectations of being on the LBMS Robotics team.

I understand that competition spots will be determined based on overall attendance at weekly practices.

I understand that while Robotics team build sessions are fun, participation requires a high level of mental focus and energy. I will contribute at the highest level even after a long day at school.

I understand I must work comfortably in a team environment by offering potential solutions to difficult problems, participating in constructive analysis of options, and supporting final team decision even when my ideas are not adopted by the group.

I understand that there are many roles on the team and that I may not have “hands-on” the robot every day, especially during my first year on the team.

I understand that for the team to be successful, I must participate in “business” type activities such as fundraising, marketing, advertising, public relations (including web site, video), etc.

I understand that my grades must be maintained (C or above) and will be monitored each grading period.

Missing work, numerous zeros in class, and discipline referrals may result in a team member not being able to attend a competition.

I understand that all school rules and policies are still in effect during after school practices and competitions.
