Who: We are looking for youth ages 14-24. We welcome anyone who is interested in having a safe space to learn, talk, listen, and meet new people.
What: These weekly groups are a space for young people to have conversations built around a curriculum that dives into connection, wellness, emotions, family struggles, “adulting”, and all things in between. Facilitation is based upon lived experiences and knowledge to bring self-awareness, wisdom, and guidance in support of youth and the issues they may encounter. FLO stands for For Ladies Only and DMX stands for Divine Masculine Xcellence. Groups will be split up by age (14-17 and 18-24). There will be journaling tasks each week.
Where: Virtual on Zoom (we will send out a zoom link).
When: Meetings are 2 hours long and take place once a week for 12 weeks. Your group will be on the same day each week. This is a 12-week commitment so please do not sign up if this is not something you can commit to at this time.
Why: Participants have the opportunity to be themselves, build healthy relationships with peers, and build a community of support with mentors who care about them. They gain healthy life and development skills like self-discovery, self-expression, communication skills, and leadership skills.
DRC values the strength of youth voice, and we recognize the obstacles that hinder them from being their best, especially during these traumatic times. Upon successful completion of the 12 weekly sessions, an investment of $250 is given to each participant for their time and commitment to themselves and others. We must see active participation each week in conversations and journaling tasks.
If you are interested, please fill out this sign-up form and feel free to email drcyouth@drc-mn.org or call 651-370-2529 with any questions.
