Thank you for your interest in wanting to be a Camp Counselor or Counselor-in-Training (CIT) at Spirit in the Pines Camp for Summer 2024. These important volunteer roles are available to those who are currently in Grades 10-12 or who are over the age of 18.
COUNSELOR-IN-TRAINING (CIT): Grade 10 (2023-2024)
NEW COUNSELORS & RETURNING/LEAD COUNSELORS: Grade 11, Grade 12, and Age 18+
NOTE: All returning applicants will be asked unique questions below, including if they want to apply to be Lead Counselor.
IMPORTANT: Please allow enough time to complete this form in one sitting. You will not be able to edit your responses afterwards.
REFERENCES: In addition to completing an application, each student must also submit two personal references. This is required EVERY YEAR for all new and returning counselors. A link to do this will be sent to your references and to you after you submit this application. References cannot be completed by family members.
TRAININGS: Trainings will start December 3 and run monthly on one Sunday of each month from 5:30 - 7:30 PM at St. Andrew Lutheran Church. Make-up sessions for each of these six sessions will occur online once per month.
FEBRUARY REGISTRATION & FEES: After completing this application, I understand that my parents will need to fill out a registration form later in 2024. If you are under 18, there will be a one time fee for all first time Counselors and CITs to support the training and re-training experience annually ($285). Scholarships can be requested if needed. There are no fees for returning counselors nor for the camp weeks themselves; all Counselors and CITs attend camp free of charge in gratitude for their volunteerism.
REQUIRED COUNSELOR RETREAT: All counselors who are in Grades 10-12 are required to attend one counselor retreat. Either January 26-28 or April 5-7, 2024 at Spirit in the Pines ($130). If you aren't able to make it in person, you will need to attend the local make-up option on March 29 or 30, 2024 ($65).
