Join Converge Amazônia - World Water Week, Towards the People's Summit and COP 30 in Belém do Pará!
It is with great honor and enthusiasm that we invite the entire Amazonian Community and the general public committed to conservation and climate justice to participate in Converge Amazônia - World Water Week, Towards the People's Summit and COP 30, an event inspired by the majestic meeting of the waters of the Negro and Solimões rivers, which come together to form the magnificent Amazon River. Just like this natural phenomenon, Converge Amazônia aims to be a space for convergence, where different voices, knowledge and segments of society come together to dialogue, co-create and influence in favor of the Amazon, its peoples and territories, reflecting the care for our Common Home and SDGs 6, 11, 12 and SDG 17.
In its second edition, Converge Amazônia promotes World Water Week and consolidates itself as a plural and inclusive movement, open to all who wish to contribute to the construction of a sustainable future for the Amazon River Basin. With a rich and diverse itinerary, the event will feature in-person and online activities, with translation into multiple languages, ensuring the participation of people from different cultures and nationalities. The activities will be held at various points in the city of Manaus, creating true spaces of confluence that extend from East to West, connecting territories, ideas and dreams.
The itinerary will include interactive panels, an innovation trail, community immersions, debate platforms, cultural fairs of creative and solidarity economy, and spaces for collective constructions, always with the aim of expanding the dialogue between traditional peoples from peripheral communities, community leaders, students, entrepreneurs, researchers, authorities, investors and civil society in general.
The official opening of Converge Amazônia - World Water Week will take place on March 17, from 8 am to 12 pm, in the Rio Solimões Hall of the Palácio Rio Negro Cultural Center (Av. Sete de Setembro, downtown). This inaugural event will be an invitation for us to embark together on a journey of reflection, collaboration and action in defense of the Amazon, our people and water resources. The official itinerary will be released on March 6th and sent to all registrants via email and shared in groups and social networks.
Registration is now open and is aimed at anyone interested in being part of this transformative journey. Whether you are a community leader, a curious student, an innovative entrepreneur, an engaged researcher, a committed authority or a conscientious citizen, Converge Amazônia is the place for you. Come and join us! Come and add your waters to this great river of ideas and actions that will take us, together, Towards the People's Summit and COP 30 in Belém do Pará. The Amazon calls us.
