Ontario Women's Masters Needed!

The inaugural international men's masters indoor tournament in Toronto held by Field Hockey Canada in 2020 was a success. Upon popular request, the next tournament is planned for early February 2022 in Ontario, and a women's division will be added.

This tournament will be held at the University of Toronto,  approximately a week before the Masters Indoor Hockey World Cup which will be in the USA.  We would like to invite Ontario's women masters aged 40 and older to participate in this warm up tournament. Please indicate your interest by filling in this form, and we will contact you.  Possible teams are O40, O45, O50 depending on the number and age of players interested.  You don't have to be on the national team to participate. You will be included in Ontario teams competing against one another/ against the Canadian national masters team(s)/ against international masters team(s).
 
This tournament serves both the purposes of practice for the national teams, and an opportunity for Ontario masters, who are not going to the Masters World Cup,  to get together and have some fun and good competition.

If you will be between 35 and 40 in 2022, you are still encouraged to fill in the form as we might need one or two underage players to make the Ontario teams more competitive, especially against incoming international teams.

We are also looking to set up a database of  Ontario female masters aged 35 or older who are interested in participating in masters tournaments, future Masters Hockey World Cups, or become coaches of these teams.  Masters Indoor Hockey World Cup 2022 to be held in the US will have age groups O40- O60 for players,  but there is no age restriction for coaches.

Our goals are twofold:
Provincial -To create indoor playing opportunities for all Ontario women masters of all levels. We hope to make it inclusive and fun.

National -To source Ontario women masters for international competition. The more organized we are and the more participation we have in Ontario,  the more presence we will have on the national masters scene.
