GOKiC Participant Media Opt Out

During the year, our student participants may be part of activities or events that are photographed/videotaped. Geeking Out Kids of Color (GOKiC) may want to use a participant’s photograph/video recording for marketing and promotional purposes on the website, social media, newsletters, multimedia projects or other publications.

For participants under 18 years old, parents/guardians may request their child’s photograph/video recording NOT BE RELEASED OR USED by submitting this form.  Participants 18 years old and older, may request their photograph/video recordings NOT BE RELEASED OR USED by submitting this form.

Important:  Media Opt Outs for participants are program specific and the Media Opt Out is only in effect for the program currently being registered for. If a student re-enrolls in the future, a new Media Opt Out form would be required for that specific programming.

Although GOKiC will take reasonable steps to prevent participants with restrictions from being photographed, we cannot guarantee that a participant will not be photographed/videotaped as part of a large group event. Parents taking photos: We do not restrict parents/guardians/community from taking photos during large culminating events or events that take place outside GOKiC programming sites in the community. We do not attempt to ensure that they are not taking photos/video recordings of participants who have restrictions.
