Required waiver for all non-members participating in a group ride

As a non-member participating in one or more group rides with West River Racing during the current calendar year, I understand and acknowledge the following:

Assumption of Risk: I am aware that bicycling carries inherent risks, including but not limited to the potential for accidents, physical injuries, equipment damage, and other unforeseen consequences. I understand these risks and voluntarily choose to participate in this ride, thereby assuming all associated risks. *

Route Selection: I understand that West River Racing and its ride leaders, in their sole discretion, may use many different factors to select a particular route for its various benefits, such as training effectiveness or destination access, and may not prioritize or guarantee the safety of the chosen route. I agree to accept any risks associated with the selected route. I know that I do not have to proceed with a given route, and that I am free to stop or separate from the group at any time.

Skill Affirmation: I affirm that I possess the necessary skills and abilities to safely participate in a group bicycle ride. *

Equipment and Conduct:  I affirm that my bicycle is in a safe, well-maintained condition suitable for the ride, and is equipped with both front and rear brakes. I commit to wearing a helmet during the group ride. I will not use headphones or talk on a phone while riding. I will not ride a fully aero (TT bar) bike. I will be respectful and courteous, and will listen and follow the instructions of ride leaders and other West River Racing cyclists.  *

Compliance with Laws and Directions: I agree to comply with all applicable traffic laws and regulations, heed the instructions of ride leaders, and conduct myself in a safe and predictable manner throughout the duration of the group ride. *

Release and Indemnity: I agree to release, indemnify, and hold harmless West River Racing, its board members, ride leaders, members, and sponsors from any liability, claims, causes of action, injuries, damages, or expenses, whether monetary or otherwise, arising from any incident that may occur during the ride. This release applies irrespective of whether the situation resulted from the acts, omissions, or fault of the parties listed. I further agree not to institute any legal proceedings against any of the above as a precondition to participating in this ride as a guest and non-member. *

Media Release: I grant West River Racing and its members the right to take photographs and video footage of me in connection with my participation in the group ride. I authorize West River Racing to copyright, use, and publish the same, along with my name, in print and/or electronically for any lawful purpose, including publicity, illustration, advertising, social media, and web content. *

Age Verification: I affirm that I am at least 18 years of age. If I am under 18, I confirm that my parent or legal guardian is present, has reviewed these terms, and has consented to my participation. In such a case, my parent or legal guardian's name and signature also appear below. *

By signing below, I acknowledge that I have read, understood, and agreed to the terms of this waiver, which shall be in effect for all West River Racing group rides I participate in during the current calendar year.
