Dear Tufts Wind Ensemble Alums,

Three years and five vaccinations later we’re ready to host our Tufts Wind Ensemble reunion originally scheduled for April, 2020.  Our Sunday, March 12, 2023 concert is a dedicated Wind Ensemble Reunion, and members of Pep Band and the Tufts Symphonic Band that preceded Wind Ensemble are welcome as well.  We will meet and greet in the lobby of Distler Concert Hall starting about 10:30 AM.  Rehearsal of Mannin Veen by Hayden Wood, Frank Ticheli’s Amazing Grace and Tuftonia’s Day follows at 12:00 noon. These have appeared with some regularity on our programs over the years. The concert is at 3:00 in Distler Concert Hall, black and black concert dress is optional. Alums are invited to play any or all of these pieces, or just come and enjoy the concert.  Dinner for you and family members and a chance to catch up with classmates follows the concert.

I estimate that about 360 players have been in the groups, at least since I arrived in 1987. Please reach out to other alums who may be interested.  Even if you can’t join us in March, if you register we’ll let you know the next time we have a reunion.  I have loved this job since day one and I am excited at the prospect of seeing many of you and making music together again.
