Connecting Lauriston Families to an OL Tutor

The school is building a list of recent Lauriston graduates who offer tutoring and mentoring services.

We invite parents of our current students to apply to be connected with a Lauriston graduate who has offered these services. This is the process:

1. Complete this form, outlining you and your child's requirements.

2. The Alumnae Office will approach new graduates on your behalf to seek expressions of interest.

3. Old Lauristonians interested in the opportunity will reply to the Alumnae Office with their expression of interest.

4. The Alumnae Office will forward all EOIs to the family. The email will include contact details of the Old Lauristonian.

5. You can contact one or more respondents to ascertain suitability and commence the interview process.

All details and terms of services are negotiated between the Old Lauristonian/Tutor/Mentor and the family. The school provides this 'connection' service only.

All tutors/mentors will have been instructed to obtain a Working with Children Check, and will have been advised to seek First Aid and anaphylaxis training. It is the family's responsibility to ensure qualifications and accreditations are validated.

I AGREE THAT this service provided by Lauriston Girls' School (Lauriston) is limited to facilitating the search for Old Lauristonian Tutors/Mentors for children of Lauriston families who are current students at Lauriston.

Lauriston Girls' School does not provide tutoring services and is not responsible in any way for the tutoring services provided by Old Lauristonians.

Lauriston does not screen, investigate or perform background checks on any Tutors/Old Lauristonians, and all families engage Tutors/Old Lauristonians, at their own risk.

Families and Tutors are responsible for negotiating billing arrangements for the services that Tutors/Mentors provide.

Lauriston does not guarantee performance by the students being tutored or Tutors providing the service.

Tutors/Old Lauristonians are not employees of Lauriston. All Tutors are independent contractors of the families that engage them. As independent contractors hired by families, Tutors control the methods, materials and all aspects of the lessons in consultation with families.

Families are responsible for selecting the right Tutor for their needs. In making hiring decisions, families should review and investigate each Tutor’s self-reported credentials, education, and experience, including proof of WWCC, Police Check, First Aid, anaphylaxis training, Drivers license, etc.

IT IS THE FAMILY'S RESPONSIBILITY THAT ALL TUTORING SESSIONS WILL BE SUPERVISED BY A RESPONSIBLE ADULT.
