Our 'Family Friday' group is open to all ages with a parent or caregiver!

The Oak Group meets every Friday beginning on September 8th from 10am-1pm at Bald Mountain State Park. We meet up at the Hearth Lodge Pavillion, and will occasionally plan 'trips' to explore other areas of Bald Mountain’s parks and lands.

This is a perfect opportunity to prepare your younger kids for a drop-off program, and help them gain more comfort and confidence spending longer stretches outdoors. If you have a child in our Cedar group, attending Fridays will be an excellent time for them to share with you all the exciting places and activities they've been experiencing throughout the week. 

If you love exploring the forest and want to learn and feel the magic of nature school yourself, come join us on Fridays! 

The Oaks Program cost is $10 per week/per family. This is greatly appreciated and is used to purchase supplies and snacks for our program. You can send this either by venmo or bring along cash the day of the hike you attend.

This will include a guided hike (either by us, or our knowledgeable student leaders and learners), a nourishing snack, an activity, game, craft, and a deepening connection to the land and community around you!

Come prepared for whatever weather is happening that day, and we always recommend packing along an extra set of clothes and shoes, as we love to go off-trail, play in the mud, and get messy! In the winter months wear lots of warm layers, bring extra gloves, and waterproof boots!

Bring along a snack or lunch for you and yours.

Once you sign up and have sent your payment option, we will text or email you (based on your preference) to remind you the day before, and to update you with any specific details regarding clothing, activities, etc. for the hike you're attending!
