Team Registration Requirements:
2021 East Coast Open (14-20 goal) & East Coast Handicap (8-12 Goal) Women’s Polo Championships
Sanctioned by the United States Polo Association

Both the Open and Handicap Tournaments will award $2,500 in prize monies to the winners & runners up.
The first 4 teams to register in each tournament (by June 13) will receive custom team jerseys, sponsored by USPA Global Licensing Inc. Trophies, MVP and Best Playing Pony recognitions will also be awarded in both tournaments.

Team Registrations must include current USPA membership & handicap rating, and signed Waivers of Liability.

Deadline for team entry, through this registration portal only :
5pm, July 19, 2021 for the Open
5pm, July 19, 2021 for the Handicap

Confirmations will be issued by the HTC within 48 hours of registration deadline, as well as information re horse boarding, leasing, lodging, and other pertinent details.

Tournament Entry Fee will be required within 48 hours of entry confirmation, or invitation may be forfeited:
Open - $1,000/team
Handicap - $750/team

A live draw of teams for their respective opening rounds will be live-streamed on the tournament’s Facebook Group page and on Newport Polo’s Facebook fan page on Saturday, July 24 at 7:30pm.

Umpires: all games will be officiated by Professional Umpires from the USPA.

3.   Player Eligibility: All Players Must be Current USPA Members with a USPA Women's Outdoor Handicap
4.   Team Eligibility: Total Women's Outdoor Handicap of Team Must Equal:
                 Open:         14-20 goals          
                 Handicap:  8-12 goals

Covid-19 Safety Protocol may be required, pending the State of RI's mandates in effect at that time.

FRI    7/30:  Myopia Polo Club - boarded tournament field
    Handicap:   Semifinals

SAT   7/31:  Newport - boarded exhibition field, spectator audience
     Open:         Final, Consolation, Trophy Presentation

SUN  8/1:   Newport - boarded exhibition field, spectator audience    
     Handicap:  Final, Consolation, Trophy Presentation

Prize Money:
     Open:         $2,000 Awarded to 1st Place Team: $500 Awarded to 2nd Place Team
     Handicap:  $2,000 Awarded to 1st Place Team: $500 Awarded to 2nd Place Team

These tournaments are made possible, in part, by the United States Polo Association Tournament Stimulus Program.

2021 Tournament Conditions:

Umpire Horse: each team must provide horses for an umpire, in each game that the team plays in;
Rain Plan: if match(es) are rained out, the match(es) will be rescheduled to the next available day.  Teams are expected to make the necessary arrangements for a postponement, or forfeit.
Penalty 3 procedure will be Undefended
Tournament Format is single elimination 
All tied games will be decided by Shootout Tournament Tiebreaker procedures, specifically: immediately upon conclusion of regulation time expiring of tied game; by 1 eligible player from the tied teams' rosters.
