KRHS                                                                RULES REGARDING STUDENT DRIVING, PARKING, AND USE OF VEHICLES
All cars parked on school grounds must be registered with the school and must display a current permit. Cars not displaying a current parking permit will not be allowed to park on school grounds. Unauthorized vehicles parked on school grounds will be ticketed and may be towed and/or booted at the owner's expense. Permits will be purchased by the year at a cost prorated according to the time of purchase ($105.00 if purchased any time through the first quarter of the school year).  A parking permit is not "auto specific"; that is, it may be used for any automobile the student chooses to drive.

All students must be licensed and covered by insurance. The school is not responsible for the vehicle or its contents. All vehicles parked on school property must display current state and local licenses and decals.

Students may not loiter in the parking lot upon arrival at school, students must exit cars immediately and proceed into the building. Students may not return to their cars during school hours unless they have prior permission and can display the proper pass. Students leaving school grounds without legal authorization, or students transporting other students who do not have legal authorization to leave school, are subject to losing their driving privileges.

All rules of the road must be adhered to while driving to or from school grounds. No speeding, reckless driving, excessive noise, or dangerous behavior will be tolerated.

Any vehicle entering this area is subject to search by school authorities and law enforcement personnel working with them. Such search may be conducted without warrant for any reasonable purpose. Search of the vehicle includes all compartments and components thereof. Once search begins, the person in control of the vehicle will not be permitted to remove it from the premises during the reasonable duration of search.

It is the responsibility of every student who drives to school to report on time. Any student who frequently reports to school late may lose the privilege of parking on school grounds and face further discipline action, which may include suspension.

Parking regulations are strictly enforced. It is a privilege to park on school grounds. Any violation of parking regulations may result in one or more of the following:  suspension of driving privileges for part or all of the school year; suspension from school; towing of vehicles; or legal action.

When a student accumulates unexcused tardies to school, the privilege to park on school property may be suspended according to the following schedule:                                                                                                               5    5 day suspension of parking privilege                                                                                                                       6-9    10 day suspension of parking privilege                                                                                                                            10+    15 day suspension of parking privilege or permanent loss of parking privileges
