SCREADY/SCPASS-Riverside Middle School-Virtual Students' RSVP
OVERVIEW:  The South Carolina College- and Career-Ready Assessments (SC READY) program is a statewide assessment in English Language Arts (ELA) and mathematics administered to students in grades 3–8. The South Carolina Palmetto Assessment of State Standards (SCPASS) is a statewide assessment program in science for students in grades 4 and 6.

SCREADY DATES:  On Thursday, April 29 (ELA1); Friday, April 30 (ELA2); and Friday, May 7 (Math) all Riverside Middle School Virtual students will report to Riverside Middle School by 8:30am for SCREADY tests. Virtual students will be the only students in attendance on these three days.

SCPASS DATE:  On Thursday, May 6, all 6th grade Riverside Middle School Virtual students will report to Riverside Middle School  by 8:30am for SCPASS Science test.  Please know that In-Person students will be in attendance this day; so, drop off and pick up traffic may be heavier than the other three days.

TRANSPORTATION/LUNCH:  Bus transportation is provided to those who requested it through the district by March 29.  Students riding the school bus will stay at Riverside Middle for normal school hours, 8:30am to 3:15pm and lunch will be served to those students.  If bus transportation has not been pre-arranged, parents or guardians must provide transportation to and from school, and lunch is optional.

CHECK-IN:  Students will check in at a table in the lobby upon arrival to school on the mornings of testing between 7:45am and 8:30am.  Please ensure students are dropped off at school between these times.

TIMES:  The SCREADY and SCPASS tests are untimed tests.  We will plan to start testing by 8:45am and dismiss those who are finished testing at 12noon.  Most students should be finished by that time. If your child is NOT going to be dismissed at 12noon because they are still testing, you will be notified via phone at 11:30am. Car riders who are finished may be picked up at 12noon and get a lunch on their way out.  Bus riders who are finished at that time will be assigned to a teacher to be taken to lunch and return to a classroom to work on their virtual class material.  Students who are NOT finished testing by noon will be taken to get lunch and will resume testing.  Final dismissal will be at 3:15.

ATTENDANCE:  Attendance will be taken, and virtual students who participate in these state mandated tests at their home-based schools will not be counted absent.

WHAT TO BRING:  Virtual students should bring their charged Chromebook, paper, pencil, school ID, and book to read, plus wear a mask.  If your child has a cell phone, have them bring it.  If your student doesn't have their school ID, we will have a copy at Riverside for them.  The book is for students to read if they finish earlier than others in their testing room.

MAKE UP DAYS:  If due to Covid symptoms or exposure, your child cannot attend the designated virtual student testing days listed above, they may come on our make up days to take the test(s) (ELA1=Thurs 5/13, ELA2=Fri 5/14, Math=Thurs 5/20, Sci6=Fri 5/21).  We will post a make up RSVP link on the front page of our school's website for you to fill out on Monday, 5/10.  It will stay active until the afternoon of 5/21.
