For the past 11 years, Hold My Heart Foundation has worked to provide needs for families with a child in the NICU. These include gift cards for food and gas, clothing, car seats, and books. The foundation started as a way to remember and honor Alyssa Rutherford, James and Danielle Rutherford's firstborn. Alyssa was born at 29 weeks and lived for 11 days. The 5k Virtual Race is a way to celebrate the last 11 years and raise funds for 2021- 2022 to continue providing needs families may require during a NICU stay. This fundraiser will benefit two NICU locations: Tacoma General and Women's and Children's Hospital in Columbia, MO. Donations vary dependent on social worker request. These can include gift cards for gas and food, clothing, toiletries, and specific needs (car seats, diapers, etc).

A virtual race is one that can be completed at any location! You can run, walk, jog, or any combination at the gym, on a track - inside or outside.

The event will start Sunday, August 29 and end Sunday, September 12. There will be a Facebook page to share pictures and updates. Once you are finished, upload a picture to win an extra entry for a prize provided by our sponsors. All participants automatically are entered. For more details, see our Facebook event page.

EARLY REGISTRATION $5 OFF! Register and pay by 7/31 for $25. After early registration, registration is $30. All participants will receive a race kit that includes a towel (perfect for work outs!), a pen, a water bottle sticker, and Jolly Ranchers. Thank you to our generous sponsors for our race swag! Shirts and medals from last year will also be provided until we run out. A list of sponsors and sponsor details can be found on our website, Instagram, and our Facebook event page. Race swag will be mailed out once paid until 8/9. If paid after 8/9, they will be mailed out after 8/29 (due to our move to Hawaii.
