Program Criteria: (Changes have been made.  Please read carefully)
Focus on Youth Summer Program supports opportunities for a positive transition to adulthood by creating summer employment opportunities for high school students who may be disengaged from school and/or experienced barriers to employment as a result of their home or school environment, which include low academic achievement, family conflict, and/or conflict with the law.  Some students also earn academic credits through the program.

*All applications are subject to revised policies and administrative changes prescribed by the Ministry of Education.

Student leaders may be selected by the Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board and placed with community groups in accordance with Ministry guidelines and mandate.

Community groups must provide a supportive work environment for student leaders with on-site supervision.

Students cannot be given responsibility to manage summer programs independently.

Students require 20 to 35 hours each week of meaningful employment.

Students are hired and paid by Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board.

Supervisors are required to submit weekly time sheets.

Community groups will be required to submit a summary at the end of the program outlining success stories, testimonials and feedback analysis.
