Host Housing Program Registration 2024-25
Many of our world-class musicians travel to Ft. Myers from all over the country and we are so grateful to patrons like you for opening your homes to them. Thank you for being a part of our extended Symphony family.

What are the requirements for housing a musician?  A private bedroom – preferably with access to a private bathroom and a parking space.

How do I register to host a musician?
Complete the electronic form below. Once you submit the form you will be automatically added to the Host List for this season. After you hit “submit” you will see a message pop up saying that your submission was received and then a copy of your completed form will be emailed to you. This means you are officially on the list! Even if you completed the form last year, please do so again as we need your availability for this current season.

What happens after you register? Once you've completed the form, you will receive an automated email with a copy of your responses, and then you are officially on the list!

How are hosts paired with musicians? Host assignments are made on a first to reply basis. Here is how the process will work: When a musician requests housing for a concert series, I will send a group email out to all hosts whose preferences match that particular musician and who have indicated that they are available for those dates. The musician will then be matched with the first host to reply to the email confirming the arrangement. I will then connect you via email with your musician so you can be in touch with each other regarding the details of their stay.

Where can I see a list of musicians I've agreed to host? You can access an up-to-date spreadsheet of all host assignments at any time using this link: HOSTING ASSIGNMENTS

*Pro Tip: Bookmark this link in your web browser so you can check your assignments at any time!

What do I do if my availability changes? We understand your plans may change. Please email me as soon as possible if your availability changes throughout the season. If you’ve already been paired with a musician and are no longer able to host them, please let me know as soon as possible but at least a month in advance. Musicians who don’t receive host housing are given a fixed stipend to book their own accommodations. Since hotel rates often increase as the dates get closer, canceling their host housing at the last minute puts them in a difficult situation. Thank you for your understanding and commitment to our musicians.

Enjoy a symphonic thank you! As a thank you for being a host, you will be entitled to two complimentary tickets (for each musician housed) for each hosted series. Please call or email Erica Dubson, the box office manager to reserve your tickets by the Tuesday before the concert. Seating is subject to availability.

How many nights per concert weekends are involved?
That depends upon the concert. Masterworks are typically Thursday to Saturday while Pops programs will vary. Some musicians prefer to depart the morning after the concert. Some may go home on days off and some may ask to stay.

Something to think about: some musicians will ask if you’ll mind their practicing in your home. It’s up to you. You will want to make “key” and access arrangements as well as your phone number/e-mail address available.

What if I have other questions? Feel free to contact Kat at personnelmanager@swflso.org or call the Symphony office at 239-418-0996.
