Foundation Aid Increase Plan - Public Input
Following the pandemic, Central Valley saw academic and social and emotional learning losses in our students. To combat those losses, the district invested nearly $9 million in federal grants in staffing and programs. That federal funding is set to expire in 2024, threatening the advances the district has made since 2021. Central Valley has developed a plan to use $3.5 million in increased foundation aid to maintain that staffing and programming, specifically:
  • Reduced the teacher-to-student ratio in classrooms, particularly at the elementary and middle schools,

  • In-school academic supports for ELA and math,

  • Social worker and counselor staffing levels,

  • Physical and emotional health programming,

  • Partnership with Connected Community Schools to link school families with local services,

  • District-wide after school tutoring program,

  • Summer school programming and providing summer enrichment, and

  • Curriculum and associated professional development that address identified areas.

In addition, Central Valley will continue investing in:

  • Equipment and staff to better maintain the facilities,
  • Updated technology to enable continuity of learning if ever forced to educate remotely in the future, and

  • Updated safety equipment and protocols.
