Dance Marathon at FSU is seeking a Merchandise Chair that will be responsible for designing all merchandise, effectively pricing and tracking sales, and distributing products efficiently, while keeping our brand in mind as well as a proper representation of DM at FSU. They will work closely with production companies in the Tallahassee community to order all merchandise, and to receive the most cost effective items. The merchandise chair is also responsible for monitoring trends and surveying the needs of our target consumers in order to supply merchandise that people will be interested in purchasing. The Merchandise Chair will work with the External Director and will lead a team of four coordinators.

Responsibilities:
Oversee the design of merchandise that is cohesive with our brand and is cost-effective.
Effectively release and promote merchandise in a strategic way to ensure that it sells.
Determine pricing for all merchandise, and price it at a level that will make profit but is still affordable.
Work closely with the finance and external teams and our CMN advisor to ensure that all sales reports are being accounted for, and all invoices are being paid.
Work closely with the Marketing and Publicity team to create strategic marketing plans to increase sales.
Utilize our online store and tracking systems for accurate inventory and sales.
Determine an effective way to distribute and ship merchandise.
Approve all designs and invoices for merchandise.

Requirements and Skills:
Must be a full-time student at Florida State University with a GPA of 2.5 or above.
Must be able to commit to this role through the entire year, including summer, fall, and spring until the next marathon ends and new management team is selected.
Must not be studying abroad during Fall or Spring semesters.
Experience with design and working knowledge of Excel.
Understanding of trends; must be able to watch trends and determine what merchandise is in the highest demand.
Understand what audience you are targeting with each piece of merchandise.
Very organized and patient; distribution of merchandise can be a time-consuming and overwhelming process.
You recognize the importance of the DM brand being a part of everything we do.
Outstanding communication skills and collaborative attitude.
You're not afraid to delegate tasks. Team-work is key in this position.
You have exceptional time management skills and can manage several projects moving forward at once.
