Students' Defilade is an PPE-manufacturing and community outreach initiative, catering particularly toward the immediate COVID-19 pandemic. We seek to provide relief to front-line workers in the NYC community via production of valuable personal protective equipment in short supply.
The students at Stuyvesant High School, as adolescents in the epicenter of the outbreak, have no doubt been heavily impacted by the spread of the disease. Many family members, friends, or other close relations are among those essential workers who must brave exposure on a daily basis, with or without the proper equipment. Students' Defilade is an outlet to protect all, but also one to provide particular defense for loved ones. As such, protective equipment will be donated to vulnerable institutions proposed by Stuyvesant students.
Below is a brief description of the roles (you can check off more than one!):
Production Personnel:
create PPE for the first-line responders
Communications Personnel:
research and contact institutions in need of PPE; arrange for drop-off of the equipment
Transportation Personnel:
collect the completed PPE within the borough they reside in and transport to the contacted institutions
