Hello, thank you for your interest in this project. My name is Max Morgan. I am a professional video producer based in Philadelphia. I mostly work on commercials and corporate videos. My business was ordered to shut down by the Governor of Pennsylvania because of the Coronavirus. I am currently quarantined in my home with my wife.
The story of coronavirus is ongoing. We are no longer in the past, but it is not yet the future. As a filmmaker, the only thing I know to do in a time like this is to document.
I am asking people around the world to help tell the story of what it’s like to be alive during these uncertain times by recording regular video messages. So far, I have people contributing from the United States, Italy, China, Mexico, and Iran. My plan is to combine this footage, along with footage of my own and “found footage” to create a documentary.
Ultimately, whatever I create, I plan to release online and possibly submit to film festivals. I’m asking everyone involved to sign a release form giving me the right to use the footage you submit. This is a passion project for me. I am not being paid to do this and I cannot offer any compensation for your involvement. It is possible to remain anonymous if you wish, but you will still need to fill out the release form.
After you fill out the form, you will receive an email from Docusign with the release form. Once I receive the release form, you will be invited to an individualized Dropbox folder to upload your footage.
What I’m asking of you is to record a video update as often as you can, as little as once a week, as often as daily. The videos can be a quick update, or a long rant about how you're feeling. If you’re not sure what to say, you can just give a quick answer to the following questions:
What is the date today?
Where are you?
How do you feel?
What did you do today?
Was there any breaking news today?
Did you hear any rumors today?
What has changed since yesterday?
Has anyone you know been diagnosed with the virus? How are they doing?
The videos can be made with a phone, laptop, or more advanced camera equipment. If using your phone, please turn the phone sideways (horizontal mode) and if possible, put the camera on something stable rather than holding it. Do your best to make sure it’s bright and quiet in the space you are making the videos.
Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions at all about the project, recording/uploading the videos, or the release form. We are in this together and this is everyone’s story to tell. I can be reached via email at
