UNFIX NYC 2021 Submission Form
We will have the zoom version of Unfix NYC 2021in this mid June!

UNFIX(unfixfestival.com) is a festival for performance and ecological activism based in Scotland. Founded by artistic director Paul Michael Henry. UNFIX NYC is a collaboration between UNFIX and Ren Gyo Soh. UNFIX NYC seeks to meet Ecological crisis and renewal through our Bodies, Minds & Souls: Dance, Theatre, Performance, music, film, visual arts, panel discussions, and any arts forms.

This festival aims to raise ecological awareness through performing arts. What is 'ecology'? Ecology is the relations between all living beings on this planet and its study. We've chosen to broaden the definition of ecology to explore how we can live with each other without destroying, harming, and hurting ourselves. The world is not a 'fix'ed place. The world is continuously changing as we are changing; we are all living beings. We believe in the power of love, the power of art and in what art can do for all living beings, for the land we live in and for future generations. We can be the change we want to see in the world. We would love to hear from you about your work. We look forward to learning about your thoughts & passion!

Regarding to COVID-19
We’ve had a year to mourn the ongoing losses of intimacy, the loneliness, the job losses (including devastation in the arts industry), as well as the health effects and deaths from the virus itself. We see the pandemic as a shocking illustration of our main themes at UNFIX: our social and biological interdependencies, the power of nature to overwhelm human plans, the inequalities in our socioeconomic systems, and the resilience of human passion and compassion through changing circumstances.

There are opportunities here. We are looking for the submissions to reflect the world or your view of the world right now.

The form can be either a work-in-process or a finished work. We highly encourage to submit experimental pieces as well. The Deadline is April 10th, 2021.
