Who are we? People who stutter have a lot to say, and deserve the time they need to say it. The Stuttering Association for the Young is a non-profit organization providing life-changing programs for young people who stutter, where everyone has as much time as they need to speak. Confident Voices is SAY's arts & community program, where participants collaborate as they channel their powerful, unique voices into original creative arts pieces, supported by a team of expert Teaching Artists.
In the Fall 2022 Song & Spoken Word Project, participants worked with Music Mentors & SAY Teaching Artists to devise songs & poems, covering topics as diverse as stuttering, goblins, self-empowerment, a fictional New York Times food critic, feminism, the meaning of true love, a good-lookin' bird named Bob...and everything in between. This is the culminating show from our fall program - featuring pieces written both online and in-person - and it's gonna be a party. Our brilliant performers will positively SOAR as they are accompanied by an all-star band led by Everett Bradley! We can't wait to rock out with you.
