The Community Deer Cooler is open to all registered Island Hunters to hang their deer for up to 14 days between October 7th - December 31st. First Priority is given to hunters that are donating deer to IGI's Venison Donation Program. Program Coordinators reserve the right to refuse any application or deer, with or without cause. Left deer will be donated to the Venison Donation Program. *
The membership is $50 for all your deer for the duration of the season (October 7th - December 31st). This fee is required to be paid upfront to guarantee your spot in the cooler. If you donate deer to the Venison Donation Program your fee will be refunded. Cash or Check payable to Martha's Vineyard Agricultural Society is accepted. *
IGI's Venison Donation Program: Meat will be donated to Island Food Pantry, Serving Hands, and Church Community Suppers. All donated deer should be field dressed with skin on and hooves removed . Once again, participating hunters will be refunded their $50 and will be able to use the Community Deer Cooler for the duration of the season. (Processing will be done at BOH approved facility, The Larder at no cost to you). *
All participants agree to be respectful of each other at all times on MVAS grounds. Participants are not allowed to unnecessarily or needlessly touch, disturb, or move deer in the cooler that are not in their possession or ownership. MVAS management, however, reserves the right to move or relocate deer at any time to facilitate access and ease of use for other participants. All members agree to keep cooler in clean, neat, sanitary, and organized condition.
