The Miss Buffalo & Niagara Scholarship Competition is a licensed franchise of the Miss New York State Scholarship Organization and is an official preliminary to the Miss America Competition , one of the nation’s leading achievement programs and the world’s largest provider of scholarship assistance to young women.

Miss America Opportunity and its affiliates strive to recognize the intelligence, talent, moral character, and personal commitment of the participants as they pursue their academic and career goals.  Participating in the Miss America system not only helps young women pay for college and prepare for a career, it also provides an opportunity to gain additional life experiences working on issues of importance to society, enhances their personal and professional skills, and develops their talents.
