**Math –  Placement tests, data evaluations, teacher recommendations, and completion of
summer assignments will all be considered before final placement.  You will be notified if your student is recommended for the Honors Course which is 7th grade math, otherwise all students will be enrolled in 6th grade math.

**Science, Social Studies, Literature, and Composition -  Each student will be automatically enrolled in these courses.

**Academic Enhancement
For students needing Intervention in Math and/or Reading, at least 20 minutes of the elective may be replaced with an Academic Enhancement class to help the student further develop critical academic skills in these areas.

**Antler Time
Students needing RETEACHING or RETESTING will get this during our Daily Antler Time or during a working lunch.

**Restart  
Restorative Instruction for Behavior Intervention - This class will be assigned to students who need behavior intervention throughout the year.  It could occur during lunch, electives or Antler Time.

**7th grade Math
Students will be placed by DCIS staff according to these prerequisites and you will be notified:
-Current Math teacher recommendation
-Proficient Completion of 6th Grade Summer IXL Assignments
-OSTP Score of Advanced
-ISIP Math Level 5
-5th grade year : 3 or greater on all standards
-Pass the 7th grade math placement exam with a 90%.  (This test will be given the end of July or the first of August  - look for an email this summer)
