AJL is an Association Team based competition, where players represent an Association, in this case NSJTA and compete against other Associations.

NSJTA has a successful and proud history of competing in events such as AJL. Most importantly it's a great way for kids to play in a supportive team environment and make long lasting friendships with similar aged kids.

The Associations Junior League consists of:
- 10 weeks with a Grand Final on week 11
- 4 players per team each week
- Played Sunday mornings starting Sunday 14 August, running to Sunday 20 November Grand Final Day
- No play during School Holidays or Melbourne Cup Weekend
- Play commences at 8:30 am and normally concludes around noon (but no later than 1 pm)
- Each player will play 1 singles and 1 doubles. Singles rubbers is best of two sets with third set match tiebreaker
  and doubles rubbers is one 8 game set.
- Graded within age groups where players participate in 10/u (mixed), 12/u, 14/u, 16/u or 18/u (mixed) leagues


Important Information:
- Tennis Victoria has confirmed there will be NO conflicting metro tournaments during AJL match times. So AJL
  is your best chance to get consistent match play.
- Matches will go towards your UTR.
- NSJTA selects teams based on UTR and current grade played within the NSJTA
- Tennis Victoria have the final say in which grade each team competes in and NOT NSJTA.
- Players must have played 6 matches for their club within the last 12 months to be eligible, although due to Covid, this may be relaxed.
- As this is an Association based event, matches are played all around Melbourne. For e.g. week 1 you could be playing at your home venue in NSJTA (such as Coburg) and the next week you could be playing away at another Associations venue (such as Dendy Park).
- Please make sure that if you are applying that you're able to commit to the whole season as this will help with team rosters.
