The Bookwood Junior Broncos are ecstatic to announce our 2021 tryout dates! Established in 2019, the Junior Broncos competitive cheerleading program was created in an effort to advance competitive cheerleading in the Brookwood area. Catering to rising 6th, 7th and 8th graders in the Brookwood cluster, athletes will practice twice a week June through October. Their practices will develop their skills, and prepare them to compete against other middle school teams, at four GHSA sanctioned events over the course of the season.

The Junior Broncos program is available for all male and female athletes within the Brookwood clust er. Athletes must be rising 6th, 7th or 8th graders who have a strong interest in competition cheer and a desire to advance their skills. The size of the team will be determined based on the skill level performed at tryouts.

Tryouts will be held on Saturday, May 22nd at The Atlanta Jayhawks Grayson location. In order to provide a continued opportunity for social distancing athletes will be assigned an evaluation time after their registration has been received. Assigned times will begin at 10:00AM and run through 1:00PM. Athletes will complete their evaluation in small groups of no more than five athletes at a time. Evaluations should not last more than 15 minutes. Parents/Guardians will be asked to remain in their cars during the evaluation. All prospective athletes should wear a white t-shirt, black shorts, with a white hair bow secured to a high, tight ponytail or bun and white sneakers. Team announcements will take place on Sunday, May 30th by 9:00PM. Results will be posted on the Atlanta Jayhawks Cheerleading Facebook page as well as emailed to all prospective athletes. Families should plan to begin practices the week of June 7th, for a minimum of 2 hours twice a week.
