TinyTalk Kent Downs, Terms and Conditions: Updated Autumn 2023

1. All classes are pre-booked only. Please speak to us however, if you have a special requirement (i.e. you are due to return to work before the end of term etc). If you join a class mid-way through the term, you only pay for the remaining weeks. We are unable to offer ‘Pay as You Go’ style arrangements where classes have waiting lists.

2. The price is per family, per class – you do not pay extra for bringing twins or an old- er/younger sibling to the same class. Please let us know if you'd like to bring additional adults to class - there is no charge for this but we may be subject to restricted numbers.

3. All classes must be booked in advance and may have limited spaces in each. When all spaces are taken, you will be placed on the waiting list. Places are on a ‘first come, first served’ basis, with priority going to current TinyTalk attendees. When we have received your booking form we will contact you by email or text to confirm your place. If we are unable to offer you a place in your preferred class, we will either offer you a place at an alternative class or venue (if available) or add you to the waiting list until a suitable space becomes available.

4. Further details – All classes must be used within the term in which they are purchased - any missed classes cannot be carried over or refunded. However, if you are unable to attend your usual baby signing class, you may make up sessions on an alternative day/time (including classes run by other TinyTalk teachers in the area – please visit www.tinytalk.co.uk for details).

5. All attendees are to abide by the infection control protocols implemented by each venue. These include: one way systems, control measures for using toilets and hand-washing facilities, hand sanitising opportunities, removal of all rubbish including tissues and nappies.

6. Please ensure you wash your hands before you enter the room. Sanitiser will be provided on arrival and exit.

7. Refreshments will be available, including dairy-free alternatives. Please do not bring nuts into our venues.

8. You will be allocated a set of sanitised individual equipment for use during the class. Please do not share this.

9. If you feel unwell, or anyone in your household has been unwell, please stay at home, and enjoy our online content instead!

Important - please read:

At TinyTalk sessions, we have lots of wonderful sensory developmental tools which are not baby toys. They are not to be handled by babies or children and are strictly ‘Adults Only’. By attending TinyTalk sessions you agree to these conditions for the safety and protection of your child as well as to the safety and protection of all children attending the sessions.

I acknowledge that, together with TinyTalk, I am responsible for the safety and protection of myself and my child at all TinyTalk sessions. This includes keeping the environment safe by keeping hot drinks out of reach of children and keeping my bags securely closed!

I am also responsible for my child’s behaviour and the safety and protection of others at TinyTalk sessions. I will keep my child with me at all times (or with someone I have agreed to have ‘in loco parentis’ responsibility- either at classes with me or at classes without me) and be vigilant as to their activities and well as to the activities of those around them. I will let the TinyTalk teacher know of ANY accident or incident so that they can be reported.

I hereby also acknowledge that no two children are the same and therefore the level of communication skills achieved, through attending TinyTalk sessions, cannot be guaranteed.

At TinyTalk we encourage you to take photographs of your clever babies signing and your happy family enjoying the class! We also like to get feedback from parents/carers about the classes and anecdotes about how baby signing has made a difference to you and your little one. We like to show how much fun the classes are and how rewarding signing can be- and use the photographs, videos and your comments on our website or on social media platforms, such as our TinyTalk Facebook page or our own mini-site: www.tinytalk.co.uk/debh

Any photographs or comments used will always be captioned with first names only, for example, Rhys signs “milk”; or “the TinyTalk class is our favourite activity of the week!”, Fiona, mum to Euan, 15 months. No surnames or locations will ever be used.

Photo consent can be given/withdrawn using our contacts and permissions form which will be sent upon booking.

Child Protection:

TinyTalk Baby Signing Classes (or Toddlers Classes) consist of 30 minutes of baby signing and singing and 30 minutes of playtime for the children and refreshments for adults.

All children who attend TinyTalk classes will be accompanied for the duration of the class by their parent/guardian/carer who is responsible for their care and wellbeing during the class. Parents/guardians/carers are reminded of this responsibility when they enrol for the classes. All activities are conducted together.

The TinyTalk Company Mission Statement states, “We take great care in what we do – and we take care in what we do very seriously. We know that, to our parents/ carers and their children, our classes are of major importance.  No two children and their parents/ carers are the same and each child needs individual attention. To ensure a child makes the best possible progress, our classes have to be delivered in a precise and methodical manner. Accordingly, we have developed our own class programme which ensures, right from the start, that classes are delivered exactly in accordance with our proven format. We take this same care and seriousness with regard to all the people who work with us.”

All TinyTalk teachers are covered by public liability insurance, have enhanced DBS checks and have met the necessary standards for cover to be granted.

As a TinyTalk teacher we fully recognise our responsibilities for child protection. We are fully committed to safeguarding the welfare of all children in our classes and take all reasonable steps to promote safe practice and to protect children from harm, abuse and exploitation. We will report any concerns about a child to both our Company Head Office as well as our local Child Protection Officer.

Covid Contingency:

Should we need to lockdown any sessions or should our teachers need to isolate, our classes will revert to an eClass format accessed via Facebook or Zoom, so you can continue to enjoy your sessions without being out of pocket or missing your weekly dose of TinyTalk fun!

You will be invited to join the relevant Facebook group to participate in these - the groups are also used for social purposes outside of our class sessions.  Your information and participation will not be shared outside the group. The e-class will not be recorded or posted online after the live performance. You will not record or share the class with any third party. All intellectual material is the property of TinyTalk.  Each family participating in these TinyTalk e-Classes does so at their own risk. You will be responsible for your own environment. However, to participate, you must do so empty handed and in a clear open and safe space. You will not have any hot drinks or implements within reach during the class. You will not do anything that puts yourself or anyone around you at risk. You will not be asked to do anything that puts you or anyone around you at risk. Your privacy will be respected at all times. However,  during the live broadcast your Facebook name will be visible to those in the closed group.  Your group link will be sent to you upon receipt of your booking.

We look forward to having you with us!
