Request Form:                                    International Delegation Exploratory and Professional Development Visits:            Canada's Mining University,                  Laurentian University
The Goodman School of Mines (GSM) at Laurentian University accommodates delegation visits geared toward professional development and training purposes.  GSM can customize your visit schedule to include presentations by subject matter experts, and manage all of the logistics including professional interpretation and translation, if needed. GSM will help you organize a visit to Canada's Mining University when:

1) Visitors have requested to meet with one or more mining-related units on campus and topics of interest extend beyond one academic unit or department. (Visit requests with a specific, singular scholarly interest should be arranged within the relevant Laurentian University department, school, or faculty)
2) Visitors are interested in a customized visit for professional development and training offered by GSM.

GSM requires at least 6 weeks notice and the completion of the Delegation Visit Request form in order to accommodate a delegation visit request.

When to visit
It is easiest to schedule campus meetings during the academic year when faculty and administrators are on campus. Summer visits are possible, but many faculty and staff are away from campus during that time and not all requests can be accommodated. Visits cannot be scheduled during the Winter Holidays or on University holidays when the campus is closed. Please refer to the Academic Calendar (https://laurentian.ca/important-dates).

Getting around campus
Please note that Laurentian University's campus is large and driving to campus buildings is not always possible. Your visit may include a fair amount of walking and we advise you to wear comfortable shoes. If mobility is an issue, please be sure to let your campus hosts know in advance so appropriate arrangements can be made.

Translation and Interpretation needs
We may be able to provide translating and interpretation services at an additional cost to the delegation. However, it is often more economical for the delegation to bring their own interpreter.

Tour groups and third parties
GSM does not organize visits to campus initiated by third-parties, such as consulting firms, recruitment agents, or tour companies who will benefit monetarily for setting up a tour for international academic visitors to Laurentian University. GSM also do not organize "study tours" for large groups.
