S4D Tech Cohort Strand 3 WG Introductory Survey
This survey will help us to steer the discussion in the future. Before we will move on and start narrowing down our discussion, we would like to collect feedback on the existing suggestions and provide an opportunity for proposing new ideas. All thoughts are more than welcome!

Below you will find the provisional ideas outlined in the concept note:

1. Work on the idea of Trusted Connectivity – encouraging governments and the private sector to build not only trustworthy physical infrastructure, but also engage in legal and political transparency through trusted connections. This should complement efforts taken by Estonia regarding Trusted Connectivity and the Tallinn Digital Summit.

2. Come up with concrete ideas as to
how e-governance can go further than just simply providing means of access and management of services. Digital means must provide opportunities for better and widespread involvement of citizens in governance and decision-making.

3. Generate ideas for the
promotion of best implantation practices to accelerate the adoption of digital services – involvement of stakeholders, civil society, and end users in the planning and design process.

4. Come up with a framework outlining concrete activities for governments to
increase transparency regarding the use of technology and data in decision-making processes. Additionally, show how these activities will contribute to the reduction of corruption.

5. Developing good practices guidelines and model legal frameworks to
foster transparency in public procurement and promote beneficial ownership transparency.

6. Developing good practices guidelines and model legal frameworks to
foster transparency in digital electoral campaigns.

7. Outline possibilities for providing solutions to problems regarding
data interoperability between different stakeholders.

8. Introduce possible campaigns for the promotion of technology as means for governments and the private sector to help
attain UN sustainable development goals.

9. Outline
possibilities for governments to implement the work of civil society working on inclusivity of and in technology. This could include campaigns by governments outlining their work on eliminating discrimination, marginalisation and bias from the technology used to provide public goods and services.
