Application SPF Talent Travel (incoming)
Complete this form in case you are a UG supervisor supporting the incoming mobility, in 2023, of a student pertaining to one of the UG non-European Strategic Partners. This call for applications is part of the UG Strategic Partnership Framework (SPF), coordinated by the Department of International Strategy and Relations (ISR).

Selected Partner students receive a (partial) allowance for travel and/or subsistence to undertake a short research internship at UG, in preparation of possible PhD degree enrollment.

Important:
  • SPF Talent Travel provides seed funding for research-oriented Partner students to connect with UG academic supervisors. It is intended specifically to identify prospective PhD students, where possible co-supervised by UG and the Partner (in particular, double/joint PhD degree structures)
  • Allowances are established at EUR 1.500, covering approximately one month of subsistence in Groningen; they consist of a 50-50 UG Central/UG Faculty contribution
  • The UG faculty supervisor applies on behalf of the Partner student (beneficiary)
  • The minimum period of stay in Groningen is one month, but beneficiaries may decide to extend their stay up to 90 days (the maximum period of stay for non-EU nationals without the requirement of a long-stay visa), provided that they have the resources to do so
  • The grant may not be sufficient to cover all costs related to the mobility and beneficiaries may combine the SPF Talent Travel allowance with other types of funding (e.g. Partner covers travel, UG covers subsistence)
  • UG Faculty contributions may be secured from Faculty international offices or the UG supervisor's own department/institute, but this must be clear at the time of application
  • The number of available positions is maximized for each Partner
  • The incoming student mobility needs to have taken place by 31 December 2024
Applicants may consult the UG intranet for more information (not available to those external to UG).
