Y5 Ice Skating Trip
On Tuesday 5th December, we have the exciting opportunity to take Y5 children up to Ice Volt at the Centurion. This will hopefully be a very special Pre-Christmas activity and we hope that everyone will enjoy it.

Cost:

As a school, we have been given a discounted rate to use the ice and we are using some of our sports premium money to supplement the trip to allow all pupils the opportunity to potentially try something new. The cost of this visit is £4.70. We ask that it is paid on ParentPay by Friday 1st December.

Transport Details:
We have been fortunate to secure the MNSP minibus which will transport 16 people at a time which cuts the cost of using a coach significantly. However, we are asking if parents are able to transport their child up to or pick up from Ice Volt to indicate on the form below as this will reduce our number of trips on the mini bus and hopefully mean children are back at school closer to the end of the school day.

If you are able to do this, we are suggesting that parents can pick up their child up from 1pm and return to Ice Volt to collect at 2.45 pm.

Timings:
Sessions at the venue last 1 hour 30 minutes. This comprises of 1 hour on the ice and 15 minutes either side to get skates on and off. Children will be able to get their skates on from 1.30pm and will get onto the ice for 1.45pm.

The aim is that the first mini bus will leave just before 2.45pm. If your child is travelling via minibus, please be aware that due to the volume of traffic around schools at this time, they may be back at school slightly later so we ask for patience with this.

What to wear:
Whilst the rink itself is undercover, it is still quite cold. Children are asked to wear comfortable and warm trousers to school on the day and then bring gloves, scarves, hat and a coat with them to the ice rink.

Additional Helpers:
As you can imagine, we are in need of some additional helpers to ensure that there is a safe ratio on the ice. We need an additional 2 helpers that are willing to go on the ice on Tuesday. If you are able to help, there would be no additional cost to you and we ask that you indicate your ability on the form below.

Waiver:
All children need to have a completed waiver to be able to skate on the ice. This will be coming home with your children today. We ask that you bring it in no later than Friday 1st December.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email the office and we will aim to answer them for you.

Many thanks,

Mrs Berry and the Y4,5 and 6 Teachers  .
