Beryl takes misuse of our vehicles seriously. We work closely with the police and all our vehicles are GPS-tracked. Using the information provided in this form we can identify Beryl scooter riders in order to educate them about correct scooter use, and review their account. Please complete this form as accurately as possible to ensure that we can clearly identify the rider.
Please note the following:
- Please complete the form as accurately as possible. Once the report is complete we will only contact you if more information is required.
- If possible, please always include the frame number of the scooter in the 'further information' section of the report. This is located over the rear wheel of the scooter. If the number plate is missing, please let us know.
- If you are concerned about the illegal use of an e-scooter, we suggest you also report the incident to your local police force. Calling 101 and using online reporting tools are available if it is not an emergency.
Wherever the identification of a rider is
possible we take the following actions.
We operate a two-strike policy when there is evidence of:
- Riding with passenger
- Riding on pedestrianised location/pavement
We operate a 1st-warning, plus 1-week suspension policy when there is evidence of:
- Poorly following the highway code (e.g. weaving through traffic, failing to stop at zebra crossings/signal-controlled crossings, dangerous riding)
The user is immediately excluded if:
- The rider is clearly underage
- Riding in a way likely to cause damage to our vehicles (e.g. on muddy paths, at skate parks, doing stunts)
- Anti-social behaviour (including aggressive riding in pedestrianised area, making people move to avoid collisions, deliberate near miss, etc.)
- Local authorities have identified clear misuse
