Educator Roundtables 2023-2024: Connecting Practice with Social Justice and Global Citizenship

We are pleased to welcome you to the launch of our 2023-2024 Educator Roundtable sessions! Many educators across the province have expressed an interest in meaningful connections, conversations, and support around issues that matter within and beyond the curriculum.

Participants will join discussions with other educators around the province who are passionate about connecting and expanding student engagement to address local and global realities. The aim of these roundtables is to provide a collaborative forum for participants to hear provocative and inspiring ideas and strategies from experts speaking to issues of local and global concern, learn from each other's lived experiences, share best practices, and explore different perspectives and approaches in a space of mutual curiosity, trust and respect.

This year, we will also be drawing on your unique knowledge and experiences to rethink Global Citizenship Education in classrooms and work together to design useful tools and resources to navigate such topics. The shape of this community will be determined by your answers to this brief survey and ideas shared at our first meeting where we will discuss in more detail what most people wish to see in these discussions.

From December 2023 to May 2024, we will be hosting one educator roundtable each month (1.5 hours in length), each focusing on a different topic, led by Bill Howe with guest speakers.

The Roundtables are facilitated by the Alberta Council for Global Cooperation. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Bill Howe at globalcitizenship@acgc.ca or projects@acgc.ca.
