The mission of the Cherry Hills Village Public Works Department is to provide high
quality streets, infrastructure, parks, and open space for all residents. The Department strives to be stewards of the environment and be fiscally responsible in all aspects of its operations. The Cherry Hills Village Department of Public Works is comprised of 2 main divisions (Parks and Streets) with 18 full-time employees who possess special skills and knowledge acquired through education, training, and experience to meet the public’s needs. The Department also employs 6 seasonal employees in the summer. Some of the many responsibilities of the Department include:
- Maintain 50 miles of streets (100 lane miles)
- Maintain 26 miles of bridle trails, 55 acres of open space and park land
- Stormwater management
- Operate 6.8 miles of sanitary sewer lines
- Oversee all City facility maintenance and repairs
- Plan and manage recreation special events
- Administer the Recreation Reimbursement Program
- Manage the household hazardous waste program and Spring Clean-Up
- Right-of-way construction permitting
- Capital construction management
- Snow removal
