Peaceful Families Project (PFP) welcomes imams and chaplains across the United States to apply for our 2022 National Imam & Chaplain Training. The Training will be held on September 30th-October 2nd, 2022
Imams & Chaplains are essential in the Muslim community for providing leadership on all social matters. They work tirelessly to serve their communities, going above and beyond job descriptions and are seen as religious scholars, counselors on private matters and serve as our role models daily. Imams and Chaplains are also the focal point for most community members when a couple or family experiences violence. Unfortunately there are few trainings/ resources available that are based on Islamic models and principles for fostering peaceful Muslim families to assist them in this needed work.
The PFP training is designed for Imams & Chaplains who acknowledge the existence of domestic violence among Muslim communities (as in all faith groups) and who are searching for an Islamic based model to address and resolve this issue in our community and offer hope for positive family functioning with Muslim Models and anti-abuse advocacy. Successful participants will better understand the dynamics of domestic violence and have new tools for responding to the complex and challenging cases that they may face as faith leaders. PFP hopes to use this group as a core for making positive changes in our Imam Chaplain community across the United States and internationally as well.
