Your submission, though valued, doesn't necessarily guarantee your selection. We appreciate your participation and board positions are reliant on available openings. Please read the important information below, which includes some Board of Trustee expectations and rules per our by-laws.
Our Mission: To encourage community education and involvement in the preservation and promotion of Clinton County’s history and genealogy for the benefit of all people, for present and future generations.
Board of Trustees Rules:
1. Governance – The Board of Trustees shall consist of twelve (12) duly elected members. The Board of Trustees shall hold the fiscal and legal responsibility for the Corporation. The Board of Trustees shall maintain, manage, control and invest the property of this corporation, and shall oversee the activities
and programs of the Society.
2. Members of the Board are required to reside or work in Clinton County, Ohio.
3. Terms of Office –Trustees are elected at each Annual Meeting to serve a three (3)year term. Trustees may serve no more than three (3) consecutive terms unless the Board deems otherwise. Each Trustee must remain a member in good standing and support the Society as a donor and active committee member during their term as a Trustee. Annual membership to the Society is a must to be considered as a Trustee.
4. Compensation - The Trustees shall serve without compensation and shall not receive remuneration for any service performed.
5. Ethics – Each Trustee shall maintain a high commitment to the stated mission of the Clinton County Historical Society and exhibit the highest ethical standards in the conduct of business as suggested in the most recent American Alliance of Museums (AAM) Code of Ethics for Museums.
Additionally, regular meetings of the Board of Trustees are held monthly on the second Tuesday of the month at 4:30 p.m. As a Trustee, you are expected to miss no more than one half
of the regular meetings in a year - lack of attendance can result in removal from the board.
