Platte Center Splash Pad Location Survey 

The Platte Center Board of Trustees would like your opinion on location of the Splash Pad. Two locations have been identified as potential spots for the Splash Pad. Option #1 is at the park on the South side of the Village Maintenance building. Option #2 is on the south side of the Post Office. Below are some pros and cons of each that our engineer has developed. If interested, please drop off your suggestion at the Drop Box in the front of the auditorium. 

Option 1 – Park

Advantages

·         Storm sewer available

·         Electrical service available from Village maintenance building

·         The splash pad will be an additional amenity in the park Restrooms available

·         Water service available from Village Maintenance building

· Sewer is available

Disadvantages

·         Site has flooded

·         If storm sewer is utilized for discharge, a NPDES permit will be required and dichlorination treatment will be required

·         If sewer is used for discharge, will be additional load on sewer system


Option 2- Post Office

Advantages

·         Centrally located

·         Sewer available

Disadvantages

·         Require establishing new water service

·         Require establishing new electrical service

·         Addition load on sewer system

·         Site has flooded in the past
