Black Lives Matter Utah Police Reform Platform Endorsement
Black Lives Matter Utah is collecting a list of names of people, organizations, churches, non-profits, public figures, and businesses who support our platform for police reform. We will then post these names and organizations on our website, send them to our members, and post them on our social media. We also plan to send them to other legislators so that they can know how far-reaching our support is.

Our Platform: We want: democratically-elected independent civilian oversight of police, We want all police body-cam footage released within 10 days of every officer-involved shooting death and critical incident. We want a national and statewide police misconduct database. We want every police department to implement implicit bias training and de-escalation training. We want police officers to have access to less-than-lethal weapons like rubber bullet guns, we want data collection regarding the race and ethnicity of the people who police are pulling over and arresting. We want police officers who are fired from one agency not to be re-hired in another agency. We want a ban on no-knock warrants, we want a ban on choke holds and carotid holds. We want 911 dispatchers given diversity training, we want reform of 911 dispatch which will prevent racial profiling by callers. We want qualified immunity reform, and we want the de-militarization of police departments. We want stronger use of force policies, Do you agree with our platform? *
