May 18, 2023 Food Sovereignty Initiatives For Your Tribal Community Webinar at 9:00 AM

Tribal communities have been disconnected from their traditional food systems.  This webinar will help you understand what a food system is and how to initiate a food sovereignty program within your community.  Please join us.

Meagen Baldy is an enrolled member of the Hoopa Tribe.  She continues to live on the reservation and is married to Raymond Baldy and has six children. Meagan has extensive experience working in Indian Country food and agriculture. She served as the district coordinator for the Klamath Trinity Resource Conservation District for 11 years. She is also the Coordinator of Food Sovereignty programs at the University of Arkansas School of Law where she serves under the Indigenous Food and Agriculture Initiative (IFAI).  She is passionate about her community, and when she isn’t working or cheering on her children, she’s helping improve food access by teaching gardening, food preservation, and local food economy development. Meagen brings all of her experience to IFAI to assist Tribes with their food security efforts through produce safety training
